Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
My Game Of The Year 2025. Absolutely phenomonal game with gorgeous visuals, a beautiful
soundtrack, and really interesting turn-based combat mechanics. And of course, the story
does not miss. It tells a beautiful story about grief and (not) letting go. The plot
twists in the story were amazing, and I just need to flex real quick about how I
predicted post-act II.
Celeste
One of my favourite games of all time. The platforming is super responsive and snappy,
the challenge is super fun, and the soundtrack fucks. The story hit really close to home
when I first played it, it's a really well told story about (overcoming) anxiety. I
still often replay this game, and I'm working my way through the C-sides on my main save
now.
Powerwash Simulator 1 and 2
I LOVE THESE GAMES. I adored the first game, I played every single level and all DLC
packs at least twice. It's the most satisfying game ever made, the perfect chill or
podcast game. The second one is EVEN BETTER!!! The soap is way better, the little
details in each stage are awesome, the story is hilarious again, and the base game is so
much longer. Genuinely some of my favourite games of all time.
Grim Dawn
The ARPG of all time. I'm probably going to replay this one every once in a while. The
build possibilities are massive, every build is viable and almost all of them are fun to
play. The soundtrack and visuals are really well done and really immerse you in the
world. Though I can't lie, I did not pay much attention to the story. People say that
it's some of the better story in ARPGs, but to me it was just fine.
Grounded
One of my favourite survival crafting games of all time. The story is surprisingly good
and the progression feels really good and meaningful. The building is super fun and the
way the game uses certain materials to make items is really fun and creative. I will one
day return to the game for NG+, but until then It's reached a satisfying end for me.
Balatro
Oh my god, this game! Number go up makes brain go brrrr. The game is such a simple
concept, but executed exceptionally well. I never thought roguelike and poker would ever
work, but somehow it does! I love roguelikes so the gameplay loop is very up my alley.
The Jokers are all so fun to combine and the builds you can do can get so silly.
Absolutely top tier game forever.
Project Diva Mega Mix
The game that got me into Vocaloid, it's my main rythm game and probably will be forever.
I love the mechanics of it, and of course the soundtrack is amazing because it's all
Vocaloid bangers. As a bonus, they let you dress up the characters, which is kinda fun.
Muse Dash
This game is so stylish and so fun. Playing it well takes dedication and time, but the
basics of it are so simple anyone could do it. What keeps me coming back is the absolute
banger of a soundtrack. A lot of amazing producers' work as well as some seriously fun
collabs.
The Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth
I looove roguelikes and this was the reason I got into them to begin with. The amount of
items in the game is insane, and the builds you can end up with can be so powerful and
silly and fun. The enemy design is really good, they hardly feel unfair and getting hit
more often feels like something you can fix with getting better.
Phasmophobia
I don't play many horror games, cause I'm a coward (and that's okay), but this one is
different, because I can have friends with me to reassure me (or to be scared together).
It's simple and fun, and I still get scared playing this even though I've played it for
a while.
V Rising
A survival crafting game where you play as a vampire with ARPG style combat?? Sign me UP!
Building a cool gothic castle while murdering a bunch of people in a village and making
them my servants is my way to have a great time.
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
I! LOVE! THIS! GAME! I grew up playing this game, and it's also the best 3D sonic
there is. The stage design is amazing, the soundtrack fucks severely, and the story
rocks. The added bonus of the Chao Garden is also awesome, I always loved taking care of
my Chaos, there's so many things you can do with them! This game is iconic for a reason.
Sonic X Shadow Generations
Sonic Generations is easily the best modern Sonic game, and Shadow Generations makes it
even better. The shadow stages are incredibly fun, the soundtrack is awesome and all the
callbacks to previous games are done really well. The story is so-so, and I do wish it
was a little bit longer, doing the main campaign doesn't take all that long.
Stardew Valley
I think everything that there is to say about this game has already been said. Wonderful
cozy game with a really fun story and gameplay that can be as serious as you make it.
I'm inbetween "casual" and "super mega optimized," though I want to make sure to buy and
sell products at their best prices, I don't mind taking my time with it and being a
little sub optimal with it all.
Valheim
A survival crafting game set in a world inspired by Norse mythology. The vibes of this
game are immaculate. The graphics are very ps2 inspired, but the lighting
elevates it and gives it a very unique look. The gameplay loop is very fun, and the
building mechanics allow for some crazy fun builds.
Risk of Rain 2
One of the best roguelikes out there. I can't believe the devs pulled off a switch from
2D to 3D as well as they did. Ridiculously good soundtrack, fun as hell builds, and
the game gets so chaotic and crazy it's an absolute blast.
Borderlands 2
Man, what a fun game. The gunplay is fun, the style still holds up, and the builds per
character are a blast. The story is also the best one of the entire borderlands series,
the pacing doesn't feel off and the humor is just right.
Borderlands 3
Though the story is not as good as the second game in the series, the gunplay and
characters/builds are even better than in 2. The humor is very hit or miss, but overall
it's still a very good time. It just feels a little too drawn out, with a lot of side
missions being often just annoying busy work that take longer than they should.
It Takes Two
Man, this game is one of the best multiplayer experiences I've ever had. The way this
game does co-op is like no other, the satisfaction of truly working together as a team
is just great. The platforming and gimmicks each stage were awesome, and every time you
learn how to use an ability properly, or when you get a brand new ability, it just feels
so good and fun.
Split Fiction
A game by the same creators of It Takes Two, and that is definitely very obvious. I liked
this even better than It Takes Two, though. The story is really good, and the swapping
from science fiction to fantasy inspired worlds is incredibly fun, and it keeps things
fresh. The abilities weren't as creative, but they were still incredibly fun to play
around with.
Red Dead Redemption 2
This style of game is usually not my thing, but RDR2 is special. The story is phenomonal,
and that's what really got me to stick with it to the end. I got really invested in
Arthur as a character, and as a bonus, the fishing in this game is SOOOOO fun.
A Little To The Left
One of the most cozy and satisfying experiences ever. You solve puzzles by sorting items
in a specific way, accompanied by a nice piano soundtrack. Some puzzles have multiple
solutions, so you have to think about how you sort things. All of the solutions are
satisfying though, like sorting books by colour or size, can't go wrong with that.
Portal 2
I don't often enjoy puzzle games, but Portal 2 is different. Thinking with portals is a
whole mindset shift, and once you get it you get it. With some of the best
character writing ever, a great soundtrack, and fun puzzles, this game is a classic for
a reason. It's also just the right length, not overstaying it's welcome but not being
too short either.
Team Fortress 2
I can't ignore my roots, TF2 is one of my most played games ever. This is because when I
was a poor 14-16 year old, I couldn't afford any games besides free games. This game
still rocks, though. It's not the same as it was, but I can for sure still have fun in
it. I mained Sniper and Scout, for the record.
